The Good:
I drive 2 and half hours to say I need my birth certificate, when I wanna get one they say they don't have the service.
I went out with my new passport in hand in 2 hours (10:40am - 12:40pm) from start to end.
The worst service ever, they tell me I need just my passport to renew it.
Terrible service at the Consulate, along with a terrible website. Impossible to get what I needed (A Mexican Birth Certificate) without an appointment. But there are NEVER any appointments available - and they only take appointments for one week out. Book your appointment online? Doesn't work - although the website forces you to re-fill out all your information before checking the schedule. Every. Single. Time. Call them to reserve your spot? Hahahaha. Good luck, my friend. After navigating their phone system for five minutes, you're lucky if you get someone on the phone. And if you do get an actual person? They can't help you, they can't answer basic questions, and they'll tell you to go online to make your appointment.
Este lugar está lleno de gente incompetente y arrogante. No les interesa para nada ayudar a los clientes. Solo les pagan por ir a sentarse. Gente floja y burra. Muy mal servicio
what a waste of time and money to come.
There was a sign reading that you must pay cash for any service, which is not true, you can use a credit card (AMEX not accepted though).
There's plenty of parking space, this seemed an issue for the office in downtown.
They have a cashier, and you can pay with credit card or cash.
What: Passport Renewal Only
This place is full of incompetent and lazy people. They do nothing but sit there and they won't even attempt to help the customer . They should be replaced . Worst service ever . One lady (customer) saw how frustrated I was due to their lack of service . She approached me and suggested I left extra money on their desk very discreetly , she said "you give them money, they give you what you want. My son had an issue last time he was here and that fixed it real quick" of course I was in shock and I said thanks I'll think about it. No way I was going to give them my hard earned money Just so they could do THEIR JOB!!!!!!! I'll pay for whatever needs to be payed, but i would NEVER give my money just so that they could stop being lazy. No way in hell. Horrible
I couldn't find any reliable information online about the requisites for passport renewal, also I found sites that contradicted each other, which I think might lead to frustration and bad reviews, because people might be rejected for not bringing the right documents. In my case I brought my own photos, and filled out a form, NOTHING OF THIS IS REQUIRED ANYMORE, they fill the form for you and take a photo.
While you're waiting you get information about other services from the consulate.
The Bad:
The place is clean and they have everything ordered by sections, so the process is very straight forward, but anyways there are people telling you what's next.
So I’m here to get my sons passport, they want my wife’s maiden name on her ID ?, hello she’s married to me she hasn’t had that name in her ID for 20 years. Anytime that’s a question a marriage certificate will suffice, which was good enough last time for his birth certificate, , They made her get a Matricula in order to be able to accept that as an ID to process my sons passport, currently sitting here waiting for that to get processed and I’m pretty sure they are gonna have her married name on it... SMH.
