I have enjoyed the option of partial retirement for the past eight years. After listening to a TV infomercial on KXAN featuring Chris Heerlein, I became curious as to the background and the firm he represented. What I discovered concerned me. From their own webpage, I discovered that none of the "Advisers" were security licensed. Nor could I find a Principal or a Compliance Officer anywhere. Being only IAR reps, this probably means they are offering Life Insurance and Annuities as their lead recommendation and/or perhaps working through a third party fund asset manager. I personally would want to work with an adviser who could offer a broader range of solutions, perhaps who is a CFP and has supervisory procedures in the office.
Sandra is constantly reviewing my portfolio in relation to what the market is doing, and giving me the best possible advice. Most recently, we moved a significant portion of funds to an Annuity contract that is more stable and yields a better return.
