I would highly recommend this facility to anyone, their prices were much lower than the big funeral homes and they fit our needs perfectly.
I worked with them from Longview Tx. and they kept me informed on everything. I would recommend them to anyone.
The people at Heart of Texas Cremation made the cremation of my father simple, cost-efficient, and dignified. They also offered a range of urns and keepsakes for my whole family. We were really impressed with them. And we love the fact that it is the business of a veteran. Thanks for your services HOTC!
It took me about a month to write this review because I didn't want to relive the night that my dad passed however I had a good experience with Heart of Texas cremation and funeral home considering the circumstances. Heart of Texas was recommended to me by my dad's hospice nurse. After having read their excellent reviews, I called them to make some inquiries. I believe the gentlrman's name was Jonathan who was very helpful and patient over the phone with me. After speaking to him, I concluded that I would use them. My dad went on to be with our Lord and savior on July 1st. Upon calling Heart of Texas, they arrived within 20-30 minutes. Two very kind and respectful gentleman arrived dressed in suits and were very presentable and professional. They entered our home and stood in the doorway with their hands crossed infront of them and their heads bowed down out of respect for my family. They offered their condolences then I invited them upstairs to where my dad laid in his hospital bed. As soon as they entered the room, one gentleman mentioned how handsome my dad was which I really appreciated the compliment. They slowly and cautiously began to wrap my dad in their white sheet. I requested that they do not cover my dad's face which they agreed however they kindly explained that before they exit our home, they would cover his face for my dad's privacy and dignity which was completely understandable. Although it was 11:00PM, I still did not want to risk any neighbors seeing. These two gentleman very gently and carefully handled my dad. My dad was a smaller man so the gourney was not necessary upstairs. He was slowly and carefully carried down the stairs and it was one of the most heart-breaking images that I have burned into my head because we lost the strongest, kindness, most joyful and hard-working person we ever knew. My dad was placed on the waiting gourney downstairs then he was escorted to an unmarked Caravan that was already backed into our driveway. Watching them load him into the van was my breaking point as I've never been separated from my dad in all 34 years of my life. I asked the gentleman to "Please take care of my dad" which they assured me that they would. Over the next two weeks, Chris (Christina in the office) was very helpful and prompt in communication with me until dad's remains was ready for pick up. Upon my arrival, Christina and the gentleman with her in the office were very kind and respectful, and didn't try to upsell me on any urns although they showed me some at my request. Overall, I had a good experience with Heart of Texas as they were not only very affordable but more importantly very kind, professional and respectful from beginning to end, and I would most definitely recommend them to everyone.
They picked up my mom very professionally, respectfully and reverently. Her move was handled quietly and the van was unmarked. Even the UPS driver who arrived with a package just after we closed the back door of the van had no clue as to what was going on.
They make a difficult time less of a hassle. When you're faced with grief, the last thing you want to do is plan a funeral or memorial. They were prompt, professional, and comforting in their demeanor. I, unfortunately, had to use them twice within a six month period. Fortunately, it was affordable.
I did a viewed cremation for my own peace of mind. That was also handled very respectively and reverently, I would also like to add that the cremation area was the cleanest working facility I've ever seen in my life. They didn't try and upsell us on anything. The man and his wife were a pleasure to deal with.
