Well, this is your only to-go place for shopping for oriental things. Place has huge collection. Has fresh fish. Price is competitive.
The people are very nice and I found somethings that I did not find anywhere but here like Dragon Fruit.
Other shops - restaurants, Oriental drug store and acupuncture, bank, jewelry store, bakeshops, a salon or two, etc.
We drive about 40 minutes from south Austin to get Asian groceries. There is also a nice selection of restaurants. Parking is rarely an issue, even though the center is very busy on weekends.
The anchor store is MT Supermarket. Great place to shop for Asian groceries, fresh and frozen meat/poultry. They've got goods from Indonesia, Philippines, etc. Reasonable prices. Backpacks and large bags may not be allowed into the store. Insiders say fresh fish deliveries are on Thursdays, displayed on Fridays.
Loved the MT Market ...and also ate at a restaurant, but people were kinda rude at restaurant, but enjoyed asking the market all sorts of questikns and they were super nice...lol...gave me weird looks, but still answered my crazy questions...like...what is this? How do I cook it? Does it taste good? What is this used for? Do you eat tjis? Blah blah blah...yes weird looks but still answering...very interesting place
I believe Metrobus #1 has a stop here.
