Housed in what formerly was the Austin Lumber Yard, Phoenix Art Depot had their inaugural show last month. A large crowd assembled in the spacious two story building that smelled of fresh cut lumber. Art of all types was on display ranging from photography to mixed media pieces. Many of the artists were on hand to discuss their work; and most, if not all, of the work was for sale. I had the pleasure of meeting one artist that night whose work I had admired for some time. The curators and artists were friendly and approachable, and made each guest feel comfortable and welcome.
