Clint came right on time as scheduled, was even 5-10 mins early which I highly appreciate that he was considerate of my time and not late or just didn't show like some contractors.
We recently used VanRossun Contracting for a major kitchen and bathroom remodel. The job was completed on time, within budget, and with excellent craftsmanship. The "on-time" part is huge. We had heard all the horror stories of typical general contractor delays which caused us to postpone our much needed upgrade for years. The VanRossun family was recommended to us by a friend who had great experiences on their multiple remodel jobs. This firm is different in that it has a stable trades team that works for it. Thus no issues scheduling subs, nor competing for the limited skilled construction labor in the hot Austin market, with the added benefit of a familiar team working in your house each day. I have and continue to recommend Clint and his team to friends who are looking to remodel.
Clint did not charge to drive all the way out to my house in Spicewood, and he showed up right on time. I'm sure there are many clients who completely forget about their appointments or are late and when someone is coming to your house for a free consult it is your job to be there at least 10 minutes before and if not then call and let them know. I would rather my contractor be early then late! It shows they DELIVER and they will do what they say they will.
I was trying to decide whether to remodel the current plan and save some money, or to tear down the whole thing and have the real open floor plan I really wanted. A big Texas home.
We have used VanRossun Contracting multiple times over the past few years. Whether for a full kitchen remodel, bar renovations, installation of custom doors, new travertine floors, painting or wall decor we have always been pleased with the quality of the craftsmanship of the work. Whether it was at a moments notice or a planned time to review our wishes we always found Clint available and ready to help move our projects along in a timely manner and always to our satisfaction. If ever something seemed a bit off, Clint was quick to address and always left us with nothing but a satisfied experience and outcome. Unlike other contractors, we found VanRossun able to handle any task we threw out them. On multiple occasions we have requested custom builds from cabinetry to custom kitchen islands where the custom wood work had to match perfectly existing custom elements. We found VanRossun extremely capable of delivering such high quality work and greatly appreciated having a contractor who managed everything from design, fabrication, material procurement and installation. We would recommend VanRossun to any of our closest friends
I am very excited and he left me with a great feeling, and confidence as a client. I am not nervous like I was with most contractors who would bid me and then say "Oh unless we need more money to do this but we will see as we go". He gave me a best case and a worst case scenario on the amount and they were both in budget and I will be getting exactly what I want on the entire property.
He walked the property with me inside and out, and was very courteous and up front with me the entire time (which I highly appreciate being in sales). You could tell he wasn't just trying to sell me or tell me what I wanted to hear to earn my business, but guess what! He did both! He said we can open the floor plan up on both levels making my master bedroom,kitchen,bathrooms and everything more roomy and bigger all at a fantastic price. As he was walking the house he was already seeing how it could be transformed and was showing me what he would do as he was thinking it and I loved every idea. I was really impressed at the stuff he was thinking and would honestly never have thought to do any of that. It would have been easy and more affordable for him just to give me a quote to replace everything with materials I wanted vs opening it up and giving me both. I really needed someone with creativity AND experience for this job, and with him being there circa 10-15 minutes he literally whipped up exactly what I wanted and quoted me on the spot about what it would run and about how long it would take.

Now, on to my review :)
I had a master bath shower remodel, house staining, deck staining, and railing painted as well as welding repair and replacement on steps for the deck. All of the work done by his crews was top notch. The crews were very polite, competent, and took great steps to protect and keep clean the surrounding areas. We were traveling a lot during the remodel and they worked with us on coordinating the work to accommodate our travel schedule without hesitation. One thing that stands out to me is that a month after the work was completed, I noticed an area where the stain needed to be touched up on one wall. I called Clint and told him and he said no problem, they would take care of it. He did. His crew came out for the small touch up and did the work. Most contractors I have used before leave and never come back, sometimes before they are even complete with the job. We would recommend them to our friends and would certainly use them again.
I had been toggling around with the idea of my 1987 lake home being torn down vs remodeling and needed some various ideas and quotes from several contractors so I could have an idea of what I was looking at price wise between the two options. Just to be clear, there is nothing really "wrong" with my current home. It is just very dated and has a more closed floor plan with many different rooms. Obviously the siding and decks need to be replaced but could last more years and it is holding up fine but will eventually need to be redone at some point.
The bad reviews on here sound like weirdos who are unreasonable or have too much free time on their hands. Also, who sets an appt at 3 o clock and gets to their house at 3 exactly? Then, has time to get on google and write a review because you can't be on time and keep in consideration of others schedules.
We recently had Clint and Isabel remodel the exterior of our home we redid siding replaced all the windows and gutters. This guys are amazing they went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. The guys that work for them are amazing workers they work hard and had communication with us thru the whole project. Anytime I had questions or needed to speak to someone Clint was always easy to get in contact with and was always willing to answer all my questions. I highly recommend them. We are so happy with their work we have already started discussing the remodel for the interior of our house.
He is also rebuilding both of my exterior decks and creating a drive way that will circle my house which I requested (we like to fish and a boat, a truck, and a few cars just don't fit comfortably in my current drive). He is also going to remove some trees, help with the walk down to my dock, new floors throughout the house, granite throughout, rip down walls and make me a huge master bath with a huge walk in closet, new siding, new roof, interior paint, doors, cabinets, fixtures interior and exterior and about 20 other things. He is even helping me repurpose three stained glass pieces that were built in to the house that my grandma painted that I do not want to lose, but needed a way to repurpose so they will have a modern feel.
