Incredibly they won't sell you a bird until you bring the cage in and they get the bird used to it for a couple of days (there's NO charge for this). A friend gave us a cage, but the spacing on the bars was too large for the small parakeet we bought.
Pretty cool to see them giving "Alice" her breakfast. This huge tortoise got led to her meal with a squash.
Shopping at this store brought me back to the early 1960s, when customer service actually was more than a phrase and meant something.
Absolutely the best place to purchase a bird! They are knowledgeable and they teach you how to care for your Bird if it's your first time! They are the friendliest people and the customer service is incredible – you want to go to a place where everybody knows your name and it's here! Thank you all for your wonderful service!
They're there 7 days a week to answer questions in person or on the phone. They'll trim feathers anytime (except Sundays) for free. Forever.
I couldn't imagine EVER going to another pet store in Austin.
The staff is extremely helpful and nice about any questions you may have. The large tortoise that roams around the store freely is amazing. The store sells fish, rodents, and obviously birds. Great store!
They have an amazing array of fish, birds, tortoises, Guinea pigs, and rabbits. The personnel were amazingly friendly! I definitely recommend this store for anyone with pet needs!
Absolutely unbelievable. When going there to get a first bird for teenage grand child, was astounded at how knowledgeable these people are.
So we bought a proper cage. They helped set it up with the things we needed (which we had no knowledge about - millet holder, toy, pumice perch, etc.) They put our little parakeet in it with a companion. They'll will weigh him and make sure he's eating properly and comfortable in the cage. This is a couple of days or a week. Then we can take him home.
Really nice place, lots of food, fish, and other animals. It was a really nice place to wander around in and check out their neat little store; it gave off a nice mom and pop's mood to it. The employee's seemed really nice too, it would've been better if we were greeted though. But overall the nice conversation that we had with one of the employee's and the stocking that they have is really amazing.
$10 a year puts you into their Pet Club, which gives you a 10% discount. I saved more than $10 already and haven't even brought our bird home yet.
