Always heard this place was good. This place is awesome! The food is amazing and the people are so nice.
I've only dined here once; late afternoon well before customary dinner times. My wife had the burger and was not impressed; the coleslaw was good. If I remember right it had a sour type creamy dressing. I had the chicken fried steak that was old fashioned good as were the mashed potatoes. The pinto beans were average and the little corn muffins were hard and dry. Their sweet tea was perfect, dark and not too sweet. They were sold out of a dessert item listed on their chalkboard. That was disappointing given it was my wife's birthday and we were hoping for a little culinary redemption with a nice dessert after a mostly mediocre dinner. Sadly, it was not to be that day. Our waitress was bubbly and friendly, very attentive, and conscientious. Will I go out of my way to return for a meal? No. Will I eat there again? Possibly. I usually like to visit a restaurant three times before I ultimately make up my mind. We were in the area so we went based on reviews. But Hoover's Cooking is so far away from our home that it's not likely we'll be going back for a long time.
Fantastic BBQ! Ribs are amazing, sides are incredible. Diverse menu of country home cooking. The restaurant was nice, I sat in the bar. Wait staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back when I am in town. I'mexcited to try other things on the menu other than the barbecue.
Casual atmosphere, good down-home cooking. Their Hot Sausage is not hot, but very good with Tabasco sauce. Amber IPA good enough for a second order. Chicken salad also good per one of our party of three.
Very nice customer service. Food was delicious! Big portions for a great price. Overall very satisfied for a first time there. I will be coming back.
Main problem was we stood for several minutes without being recognized by the cashier/hostess. We had to grab a passing waiter who seated us graciously.
