Excellent breakfast place! Try the migss plate or mix and match breakfast tacos from a wide selection. The salsa is home-made and wonderful!
I love this little mom and pap Mexican restaurant. It has great food and a wonderful atmosphere. Wednesday they have a live band. You couldn't ask for a friendlier staff of people. From the front the moment you walk in, till you walk out. You're treated with kindness they're actually glad you came. I've been coming here for years, and I plan to continue to coming. If you like really good Mexican food and a nice neighborly atmosphere. Then don't hesitate to visit Mi Madre's. From a true Austinite you'll love it.
Very good all around taco joint. But the one thing that stands out is their bean and cheese tacos. What's special about bean and cheese tacos you say? Go over and find out. Best in the city. Believe me, I've been going there for about 17 years.
They have the BEST tortilla chips! The food is also delicious. We had the crispy fish tacos which were perfectly fried and served with tasty pickled red onions. On the side we had a wonderful hot dip with their chili beef, queso, sour cream and avocado. The portions were very generous and the staff was friendly.
Pretty damn good. It's a little expensive for a Mexican restaurant, but the food is delicious. The patio outside is gorgeous, AND dog friendly. I don't want to sound pretentious, but being from Houston I find it very hard to find decent Mexican food in Austin without having to drive across town. This place definitely satisfies my cravings. I usually judge a Mexican restaurant by it's salsa, and this place has spicy, flavorful salsa that isn't just pico. The margaritas are STRONG, and don't taste like like a generic mix they bought from a store. I definitely will be coming back.
