The food… is remarkable. Everything from the cornbread made from the corn meal ground just north of Austin to the succulent red snapper (best I have ever had), amazed and astonished me. My only regret is not having a larger stomach to endure the entire menu in one sitting. The food is clean, conceptually concise, and in one word… inspirational.

Lovely restaurant, great ambiance. Food is excellent but over-priced for Austin. For the price of mains we really expect 5* but I can't give it here. Our snapper dish was super salty. Very disappointing. Pork chop was excellent tho. Corn bread app is outstanding, as is the shrimp app currently on the menu. Great cocktails. Wish they offered some vegetables for sides. Enjoyed our cocktails.

I would like to give a special thanks to the team of Olamaie for making date night extra special.

Walking up to the restaurant, the feeling is reminiscent of what I think walking up to an uncle’s house somewhere below the Mason Dixon line. You could smell the food as you walked up, only to be greeted by a friendly face. The young lady who took my partner and I to the table guided my date and I to the table with such finesse that my partner said she reminded her of a ballerina. There are a few tables that are so close that one might be turned off. But the atmosphere would have unexpected company become close friends, business partners, or even god parents.

Great service and southern food with layers of flavor. We had the cornbread, mushroom/kale, hush puppies, peanuts, hoppin’ John, chicken, and tilefish. High recommend all!

Inventive and delicious take on southern cooking. Great design. Very expensive. Limited menu. Only 5 options for Main course, one of which was over $100. Meal was phenomenal though.

Moving to Austin I had heard the city was in the renaissance of great restaurant concepts. But after dining out a few times, I was beginning to think that time has not come… until I dined at Olamaie. The restaurant is the embodiment of a talented team of hospitalitarians with a clear point of view, desire, and I’m guessing a series of remarkable CV’s. Chef Michael’s team executes a level of service that is only rivaled by the food.

I've traveled everywhere, and eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world. I say this not to sound pompous but because Olamaie has now topped that list. From the starters to the dessert each course was better than the next. The flavors in the chicken were unbelievable, and the "secret" biscuits were a perfect addition to the meal. The only thing that I wouldn't recommend would be the potato appetizer, the beef fat sauce is an acquired taste.
