Delicious sushi! Endless options (especially if you include the hidden menu; just ask your waiter about the hidden menu favorites!) ingredients are fresh and the ambiance is classy and nice. Kinda expensive but worth it from time to time. If you're looking for a fancy date spot and you like sushi, this is the place to go.
I came here for their happy hour on a Friday evening. Store wasn't too packed and the discounted prices were fantastic. I was able to get about 3 orders of delicious sushi each for myself and my friend as well as several drinks apiece for about $60. We couldn't eat it all. The waitress we had was very attentive, the restaurant was clean and not noisy. I wish I lived closer!
Great place for some unique sushi. They'll usually offer a reverse happy hour on weekend nights with some pretty good deals. There's also a decent sake (hot/cold) and beer selection. The atmosphere is pretty laid back, and there's usually a DJ playing on the weekends, but it's not annoyingly loud or anything. There's a cool looking sushi bar and regular bar that offer seating. Definitely a nice, hip little spot to grab some sushi and drinks.
I'm Japanese and tried several Sushi places in TX, recommended by Japanese friends. And this is the best Sushi and Izakaya place in TX so far in my opinion.The fish are so fresh and beautifully prepared either as Sushi or Sashimi.The Chefs are known as one of the best around TX.
UMI sushi has an amazing, comfortable atmosphere--the servers offer alternate options which is great! the spicy edamame is a must! By far my favorite sushi spot in south Austin !
So totally understandable why the food are so good and service is good too.And a bit pricey but understandable for this freshness and quality. Recommend to book the table if you'd really enjoy the food there!
