We continued to go back for our wedding bands and pearl earrings. Their prices for simple pearl studs were cheaper than that of Kay Jewelers and Jared. Shop local!
I picked out my gold/platinum wedding band from Bjorkheims Diamonds 14 years ago and recall an awesome and easy customer experience (which was a terrific convenience during our hectic wedding planning time) After significant weightloss, I needed it downsized so naturally returned to this trusted place. It turned out that my style of ring is not able to be resized, but lucky for me, there was a service available to re-make it in my new size. So I now have a brand spanking new band for effectively a nominal resizing fee.
The most important thing to me in a jeweler is trust. And I felt very comfortable with Leif when I visited his store and spoke with him, when I was looking for a jeweler to do an appraisal for me. His customer service was was A+ and the appraisal was done in a very timely manner and for a fair price. I have now found my jeweler going forward!

I emailed to get some information on the 4th of July. I got a quick response from Leif telling me that their store wasn't currently open, but he did answer the questions that could be answered via email. I went ahead and took my inherited engagement ring in. Leif was friendly, helpful and the price for all of the services provided (stone setting, repairing broken prong and rhodium dipping) were less expensive than another jeweler was going to charge just to set the stone! Also, the service was quick and I had my ring on my finger in just a few days. This store might be in the heart of Austin, but it has service like your hometown jeweler.
