Dean and his staff are incredibly talented in designing jewelry. After meeting with Dean, I didn't have any doubt this was the artist to design the ring that would be on my girls finger for the rest of our lives. His skill and decades of experience assure me we're in the right hands.
Worked with this man for 6 months for a custom ring. Said he would have my wedding ring done at least two weeks before our wedding date. Two weeks before we could not get a hold of him. Finally we got a hold of him two days before our date and said he had just started on the ring and did not order the diamonds that were supposed to go in it. When we ask for our money back he tried to charge us with half of our despoit fee and I had to threaten a lawsuit in order to get my grandfather's turquoise back. Worst experience ever. No ring on my wedding day because of him ladies!
I sincerely enjoyed my opportunity to meet Dean and I highly recommend this long time Austin business. There is no comparison in Austin for design chops, service and workmanship.

The new office on South Lamar is clean and cool, outfitted with a wet bar and giant display Dean uses to let you look over his shoulder as he starts the CAD design of your ring.
Nice staff and very helpful! I have a friend that designed a custom wedding set with unique diamonds and it is very pretty. Initially, the staff is very communicative, but then kind of ignore you when you have follow-up questions down the line. Their pieces are unique have an Austin vibe to them, which makes them a little "gem" in Austin. Parking can be a little confusing as they only have about 3 spots.
My husband worked with Dean to design my engagement ring, that I absolutely love! My husband made a few appointments and met with him to discuss some ideas of what I like. He designed my ring then my husband went in to look over the design and make any final changes. The experience went very well and we are both very pleased with my engagement ring. When it came time to get our wedding bands we went back to Dean Fredrick. We worked with him to design our wedding bands, the process was easy, fun, and exciting. Dean has been great to work with, he is very knowledgeable and informative with his clients. We look forward to working with Dean again in the future!
