I first saw Claire's jewelry in a local store in Gruen, TX. I am always on the lookout for different, well-made pieces created by an artist. The minute I saw Claire's jewelry I was drawn to how unique and artistic it is. That day I bought three of her pieces and haven't stopped since. I have necklaces, earrings and rings (so far). I wear the pieces several times each week to work, as well as weekends. Her pieces can go from a casual outfit to stepping out in the evening. They all are my favorites! I would love to own every piece she makes! If you would like well-made jewelry that is chic and stands out in its creativity, then Claire is the artist for you.
My first set of earrings are still among my favorite, 6 years later. I love the femininity and delicacy of them. I also have another set of earrings and two necklaces. Each piece feels like a symbol of the earth, and the quality is unmatched! And, if loving them isn't enough, I almost always get a compliment when I'm wearing her designs.
This review would not be complete if I left out the process of designing a custom ring. I have two custom rings! One she made with my husband's guidance as a "stand in" engagement ring. The other is my wedding ring I wear everyday. Both rings are perfect reflections of me and my husband. At the time Claire was hired to design and make my wedding ring, she and I lived in different states. This did not interfere with her ability to hear my thoughts, sketch some ideas, and ultimately create exactly the ring I wanted. Claire is very communicative and responsive. When I felt nervous or anxious about the process, she was quick to email back or call - depending on what we were both available for. She is also very clear and direct about the cost, up front, so there are no shockers at the end. She also gave honest recommendations about which gems could withstand wear and tear and which were prone to damage. Being the gem she is, she even worked with my husband behind the scenes to surprise me when the ring was actually done.
I'm so glad I discovered the talented Clare Sommers Buck at a craft fair a few years back. Firstly, her pieces have become my favorite go-tos that I reach for and wear daily. The jewelry is of very high quality and durability, with a special character that is somehow both modern and ancient. It makes me feel empowered to wear because it reflects my own style, which I see as a mix of likewise contrasting elements - edgy and delicate, silver and brass, jeweled and minimalistic. Secondly, Claire cares immensely about her work and in connecting with customers. She is kind and responsive, which really enhances the experience of supporting locally handmade products.
Not only have Claire and I been life long friends, but the love I feel for her is exactly how I feel about her jewelry. Every piece she makes is flawless! I have had nothing but the best experiences with her custom pieces. They fit perfectly, along with minimal wear considering they are everyday pieces. And not to mention all of her materials she uses is top quality. I prefer to do business in person, so scheduling meetings was easy and always a good time. Her customer service, communication, product design (attention to detail), her input (always much appreciated) and delivery of product was all more than I could ask for. If you are looking for -0% disappointment I highly recommend Claire! Not only will you be beyond happy and receive top care, but you will also have acquired a pretty rad friendship.

Claire is an amazing artist and such a sweetheart. She's a dream to work with. I have several CSB pieces, some of them 10 years old and they are still all so beautiful. I love her use of mixed metals and how they wear over time. Many pieces I wear daily and I get constant compliments. Everything is so unique. Recently my family and I have had a few custom pieces designed by Claire and we couldn't be happier. She was able to share our vision and complete something more beautiful than we even imagined. Turn-around time was also fantastic for a custom piece. Would 100% recommend checking out this incredible artist's work.
