Where recently in Austin for MondoCon so ended up seeing 4 movies at this theater in the span of a few days. We really enjoyed this theater during each movie. They serve food and drinks throughout the movie. You order by writing what you want on a paper and placing it in the slot in front of your seat. The service was very good and the food we had was awesome. We ordered fried pickles, buffalo cauliflower bites and a soft pretzel. My friends had the regular and adult shakes, and all of them loved their orders! The prices are not cheap but not too expensive. The seats in the theater could be more comfortable but were okay to sit in. I liked that there was a mix of movies you’d find at any theater and some that seemed to be more of a limited release at this theater. I would love to go back next time we are in Austin to see a regular movie. We highly recommend this theater, and wish we could have an Alamo theater in Minnesota!
Great programming. Appreciate the design of the Lamar Union complex it is in. Food prices feel high for the cost. Older theaters. Mixed service - used to feel like people were really excited to work there, less so now. The frequent customer program isn't the best.
Awesome place. Really good service. Be sure to get there early, I can’t remember if it’s 5 or 10 minutes but if you aren’t early they won’t let you into the theater. Once the movie starts if you have an order you write it on a card. Good food and good beer selection.
Over the course of the past year and a half, this has become my wife's and my favorite movie place. Food is mildly overpriced, but popcorn/unlimited drinks are reasonable-ish. We have fallen in love in the atmosphere here. With their strict behaviour policy, it's a guaranteed good time when we go to the movies. I only wish the prices were better so we could go more often. But they gotta make money, I suppose.
Would be a five star if the parking garage was a little larger. Always concerned about hitting the pillars there. Everything else is perfect though, especially the highball next door. Probably the best Alamo/bar combination I've been to. (Better than Slaughter Ln/Mueller/Lakeline)
