Most of the animal cages were empty, which actually may be a good thing.

There were a lot of kids in summer camps that looked to be having a good time.

I really want to like this place and I'm glad it exists. However there's not much for an active toddler to do. My daughter liked the 2 mice in a cage though.

The overall feel of the location was that it was a little run down and lacked funding. If government funding isn't there, I'm sure the public would be willing to pay an entry fee to assure the location could modernize a bit.

The hiking trail is pretty great. Some nice views and nifty info plaques along much of the way help to add education to the experience, and if you're worried about getting lost you can check the trail on Google maps.

The love animal exhibits are about average - not much room for the animals to roam and not much to keep them entertained - but many of the animals have been rescued after trauma, so it's great for teaching kids about some light animal science.

Kids had a great time here for hours. Have everything from birds to see to dinosaur bone hunting. Great time for a couple of hours with young kids and it is free.

Very cool kids-oriented museum and science center with small mammal zoo and raptor aviary. Hands-on museum exhibits, large shaded sand box with buried dinosaur "fossils". Pond and creek add to the atmosphere. Conveniently located near Ladybird Lake and downtown. Usually plenty of parking under Loop 1 bridge. Worth the visit!

There's a lot to take in, so pack a lunch and check it out.

We had a few hours to kill before our flight and decided to stop by. Not sure we were prepared with appropriate walking shoes, water and the likes so it may have limited our view of the grounds.

This is a great place to bring kids of just about any age. The indoor exhibits are very engaging and interactive with a great staff that knows their stuff.
