Really nice location that could be a lot better if it were only cleaned up and have the riff raff hanging around there run off.
There was a lot of trash and beer cans near the entrance, and illegal dumping with a discarded mattress. I encountered a sketchy homeless guy with gang tatooes near the river and got the heck out of there. This could be a nice place if it was cleaned up. It is a little better on the opposite side of the river, which has less trash, and no sketchy homeless that I saw. Cross the Montopolis bridge to the south and take the first right after the bridge onto an asphalt bike trail, then take a right onto the first abandoned asphalt trail at the bottom of the hill.
Needs som community action to clean up all the trash, 5 star scenery, 1 star care.
This is just a short trail but it is secluded which is nice, especially if you want your dogs off leash without disturbing anyone. Only a couple of small access spots to the water.
Incredibly beautiful and not super crowded so you get some tranquility. My only issue is the trails aren't well maintained and also not the longest trails and the bridge-side is full of trash and beer cans. It's a truly wonderful place with a lot of potential.
Unfortunately the people that come here dont pick up after themselves and leave trash everywhere.
Also, due to the construction they blocked off a big stretch at the side of the road that is normally being used for parking. Now there is only enough space for 5-6 cars
