The repair required the cut out and replacement of a 3" section of 1" copper line. Line had already been exposed and dug out. The dispatcher told me at 3:15pm the technician was on his way. I received three more calls that he was running late but on his way.
It was super-easy to get someone out the same day. The worker was so smart. He thought through many possible causes of the drainage issue, avoiding jumping to the most invasive ways to diagnose the problem. Finally he was able to clear the pipe improvising a bit with his equipment. This organization is a good one!
Unfortunately, this experience is not unique to Clarke Kent and is a major issue in the Austin market. It is the reason why we have started a company to help people manage these types of situations and not deal with short sighted, outrageous charges.
I have been using Clarke Kent for over 20 years. They are always great! I have a unique house and they have been willing, time after time, to roll with the punches, problem solve and help us out. They are friendly, efficient and reliable.
I called them to fix a water leak and they looked at it and said they could do it and quoted me a price. After they attempted unsucessfully to make the repair, i was told i needed a $3,500.00 water reroute and my originally small leak is much worse then when they started working on it. I have tried to get them to fix it unsucessfully. I will never use this plummer again and would recomend you dont either.
Long story short, after lots of negotiation and discussion, we asked the plumber to leave and trapped another resource, who performed the same exercise required for $200.

I talked to a real person late in the afternoon and made an apt for the next day. It was not an emergency. We had the good fortune to have Joshua come to our house. He was professional and personable. He gave us an estimate before he started that seemed reasonable. He got the job done and gave us a quick lesson on plumbing. We enjoyed meeting him and we are happy with the job he did. I will not hesitate to call again, but I think we have been spoiled and will ask for Joshua. Maybe he should be your PR representative too. He is a great example of an employee that represents his company well. A big Thank you to you and your staff.
