A nameless princess, fairy, or pet is just fine.
The very large yard, covered with lots of tree shade, is a spacious place where children can go exploring and playing all day. There are chicken coops with dozen of chicken and some of them lay eggs. Children enjoyed as they took turns in picking up eggs.
No commercial characters are allowed on children's clothing or lunch boxes.
We really want to thank Tracy, Caitlin, Emily and the rest of the teachers very much for the amazing job that they do, every day!
There are chickens running around and service dogs-in-training are consistently present. You will find books, puzzles, crafts, costumes, outdoor toys - but NO TV. (Yay!) I can't say enough about the contribution this school has made to our family - both the kids and the parents. I (heart) gnomes.
There is a large yard with lots of shade for the children to play.
The director/owner is also a dog trainer for the Texas Guide Dogs.
I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a daycare. You can ask for a tour to get a better idea for yourself.
This is the school our daughter used to attend and now our son attends as well.
There is order, discipline and it is delivered in a firm but compassionate manner.
All the rooms are clean and properly maintained.
Tracy has put together a wonderful environment of love and rhythm that speaks to the kids and makes them comfortable. There is little to no turnover with the staff ('Staff' feels so sterile. I swear my kids love them like family!) and their dedication is awe-inspiring.
The teachers are very loving and helpful for the children and we had our children come home telling us how much they loved their teachers.
It is still the school where my older daughter prefers to spend her summer days and enjoys even a few minutes each day as we drop off or pick up my son.
We highly recommend Greenwood School as a safe, professional and compassionate place where your children can go on discovering new things and most importantly they can discover their self confidence in anything they want to do or learn. Children here learn to be confident, respectful, practical and they really thrive.
Yay, finally somebody who gets it!
You will see at times a dog or two in the day care and yes, it is safe.
Love Love Love this school. I would drive further and pay more for this school.
Keep it simple, have something good for children and DO NOT indoctrinate them and align with a specific company's marketing plan.
Greenwood is a special place for children to foster their imaginations and encourage positive social skills. Our daughter actually asks us if she can go to school and says "yippee" when it is a school day. Her maturity has grown tremendously in the short time she has been with them. They are very caring and give specific attention to each individual child. We are very happy with the school and would recommend it to anyone.
Really great place for children to spend their day, learn and interact with one another in a very natural way. The staff is courteous, professional and caring.
No specific religion is observed or favored. We like it because they observe the nature oriented festivals for their spiritual value that helps us better connect with our world.
Children love these dogs and the dogs themselves are very well behaved.
We would choose Greenwood again over any other school in Austin.
Tracy, the director, teachers and staff really know what they are doing in what regards child rearing, lessons, play time - basically in all aspects a day care should provide for the enrolled children.
