I was hoping to not have to come here and write a review. I hate doing these, so it should mean something that I'm taking my time to write this. This place is a sham. I am out around $2,000 now. I wanted to get my brakes pads changed a while back, and they insisted my rotors were shot and had to be replaced as well. All four... Should've known then there was trouble. I decided they were the experts so if they say so I guess I just had to live with the price bump. Upon getting my car, I noticed a fair bit of rust on the "new" rotors and felt something was off. I went back to them and questioned them on the actual rotor "replacement." Their mechanic "checked it out" and everything was right. They said the rust was normal and would come off with time. My wife and I couldn't really afford the repairs but had no choice so we were down a fair bit of money. Now over the last few weeks, I've heard a lot of squeaking and so I brought my car to a shop I had starting using due to AAMCO's shadiness. My new shop tells me I need to replace my rotors and pads. What a surprise, right? I mentioned to them I had already replaced them and my new shop, showing me pictures of my rotors and pads, are telling me I was probably duped and all they did was put low end pads on old rotors. I've since reached out to AAMCO and the manager would not even look at my car and just said that's what happens with rotors and pads and that every time they change brakes they change rotors too. (I know people that change their brake pads regularly, that would cost a fortune to do rotors every time). Oh but get this, he did offer to "give me a deal" over the other repair shops estimate. What a generous man! I'm fed up. Now, with a 4 month old, I am going to have to shell out more money to repair something that I've already paid for once. Please do not give this company business. Find someone else. Total sham.
Really honest. They really took care of me here. They tried to keep my costs down. I will come back!
Originally I thought it was just the clutch, but later found out it was the catalytic converters and the engine computer. They have been very patient with me concerning paying for the car, and even offer some financing solutions. And, worst case scenario, have allowed for me to make payments to them, and not add an extra charge for car storage.
Came for a diagnosis on my car as I was traveling access Austin. Excellent service and very friendly staff. Would recommend anytime. My car was back in less than an hour with good advice and detailed way forward.
James is absolutely incredible! I took my car in with an AC issue that'd I'd already had "fixed" elsewhere twice before. After a brief wait he took me out to the car and actually showed me the underlying problem and explained that until that was fixed I would continuously be replacing the same parts. He originally gave me a quote which seemed reasonable and competitive, but promised to try to find a better deal on the part as I had only been in town for a week and was low on expendable cash due to my move. James called all over town to get me the best deal and was even able to offer a student discount! I would highly recommend James and his team for any auto repair needs, he truly cares about helping people and not just making money like some others out there.
