Dropped my car off to have the ac unit replaced. First off- they wanted to charge me 200$ just to diagnose an issue I had already knowledge of ( i had already told them from the beginning that i knew the issue from a previous mechanic, and to just replace the entire system).. they gave me an estimate for the ac and I told them to do it. Got car back, although now it was making a whining sound. I immediately took it back and explained to them. They kept the car for 2-3 days just to say they couldn't hear the sound. I need my car so I just thought the sound might be from the new a.c. unit. Some days later the battery light comes on and I decide to check the car out myself. Well, the sound obviously comes from the alternator and noticed that upon their installing of the a/c unit they did not place the belt on my alternator correctly and the belt/ components were not put back properly and now either need to readjust the belt or potentially buy a new alternator. The fact that they couldn't pick up on this in 2 days leads me to believe they are either uneducated mechanics or being negligent on purpose. They also left mine and other cars there unlocked (why?) I'm not saying they are damaging cars on purpose but also not saying they aren't doing this through negligent work. I wouldn't take my car back here, sketchy
When I showed up they tried to charge me 500.00 more than the estimate which they had agreed to discount. The receipt & explanations of the work that was done were not very clear as if they thought I wouldn't care or understand the work that was done. However I still give them 3 stars because the work they do is solid & warrantied, I just don't like how they handle the billing; it seems a little slippery to me. More transparency would make me feel better about returning.
Our family was traveling on vacation and we experienced car troubles. It would have been very easy to be taken advantage of in this situation, but the staff at McSpadden's did not. In fact they suggested options that ultimately saved us hundreds of dollars! I would wholeheartedly recommend McSpadden's to anyone!
lil' bessy's windshield broke during routine inspection/repair. im glad noone was hurt. they took the high road and replaced it at no charge. classy professional joint!
