Brought my car in and was very clear about the symptoms, what I wanted them to focus on and what I believed I was causing it. There is no way they ever spent more than 10 minutes on my car and continued to blame a sensor I told, and had proof, that it was not. None the less I decided to trust them and let them replace it. They replaced a sensor that was not broken prior and I have the same problems now as I did before.
This is a crappy mechanic, the only thing they know how to do is run an OBD scan (for the not car savvy this is free at any auto parts store around the country but Youniversal Auto Care charges $90).
Needed an alignment and brakes so I stopped because I saw the sign that said $79.99 alignment which is a steal versus firestone and the dealer. The brake estimate was way cheaper than I got from brake check when I used to use them. The knocked it out within a few hours. It was a good idea that I got there early because the lobby fills up quickly and so does their parking lot. I got their upgrade to a lifetime worth of alignments because I just bought my car so I know I will get the full value out of it, and then some. I will be back because I had no idea they are like a jiffy lube, firestone, and a midas all in one. I found my new shop for sure.
Came in for an inspection on my only day off in months so very precious time to me. Was asked to return in 30 minutes for a quick inspection. Returned in 30 minutes and was told there were 2 people ahead of me now. Piss poor first experience here. Hope that's not the norm.
Find a better shop with people that actually know something about cars.
Disregarding the fact that I believe I was lied to multiple times, if they would have spent 10 more minutes they could have proved the 'supposedly bad sensor" was not actually bad and saved me some money. But that would have made them less.
Johnny is the man! Always good fair prices, they never try to fix things that aren't broken or over sell me parts I don't need! They fix what is broken the first time right and warranty there work 5 star shop! Drop in ask for Johnny and you won't be disappointed.
Dishonest. I was blatantly lied to at this shop. Youniversal lied and said I had no freon in my system and was going to charge me for things that were not required at all for my car. I came here to have my AC checked out after having my oil changed here a couple times. I was told that they could hook up some gauges and get some reading and determine the problem for $30. I agreed to this and after the test they told me that there was no freon left in my AC system and that they would need to do further testing (refill AC system with freon and dye and I'd drive it for a couple days and bring it back and they could determine if there was a leak). That was going to cost me an additional $124. They also told me that after this, it would likely be an expensive fix to correct any leaks. So, they made it sound like they were going to find the problem with the $30 test and then they told me an additional $124 was necessary. I didn't like this so I went to Pep Boys. Pep Boys checked out my car and found out that there was actually freon in my system and that there was only a problem with a very cheap part to replace. I had my car fixed in a few hours for $87 total at Pep Boys.
Do not take your car here.
