I brought my daughter here for her first cleaning and check up. I was nervous because our insurance didn't cover a pediatric dentist and after reading other reviews I was nervous about how they would treat a child, especially one who was terrified of the dentist.
The front desk was always timely with reminder calls, and helping break down exactly what services would cost and my options. Dr. Behmanesh suggested many procedures I should consider having done, some (a root canal and several fillings) were emphasized as get these done now and others she was frank about my needing them eventually but understanding that with a partial dental coverage policy and eventually a layoff that I could go an indeterminable while likely without trouble but to remember that I'll need those procedures eventually and take better care in the mean time.
I had Western Trails Dental for the year I lived in Austin. I read the reviews and went in thinking this "could be good or not". I had Dr. Behmanesh and Dental Hygenist Marissa. Dr. Behmanesh and I ended up spending a while together as I had quite a bit of catch up work to do on my dental care and the first visit she was a little cool but after a couple appointments I came to understand she's a professional. She is there to get the job done, she does it well without unnecessary 'extras' and not a lot of chit-chat but that's hard to do when she's got her hands and 5 tools in your mouth. Marissa, however was a complete doll. She was professional, warm, friendly, and caring. We talked about real ways I could care for my teeth in the real world (where soda, sugar, and forgetting to floss happen).
If I return to Austin I'd absolutely go back.
We were very happy with our experience and it was great to find a dentist that my entire family can use.
Going here for six years now. Nice, friendly dental practice with reasonable pricing. Dental pricing is extremely opaque and can get exorbitantly costly (like healthcare in general), but the dentists here seem more focused on patient care and exercising some restraint vs. bankrupting people like some pf the corporate chains (e.g. Castle Dental).
My fears were for nothing. We had a great experience! The reception staff was nice. The hygenist was amazingly patient. He helped her feel at ease by making jokes and explaining everything he was doing. He even let her hold the tools. The TV above the chair that was turned to cartoons also helped distract her. The dentist was also very kind and addressed all my concerns about her teeth and gave us some helpful tips. At the end of the visit, they even posed for a picture for her first visit to the dentist.
Extremely friendly staff, Dr. Kritz is the bomb! Kara Marquez
I kept in mind it's a business like any other, of course they're going to recommend procedures because that's good business but nothing was outrageous, their prices were comparable to others in Austin and I did my homework calling several clinics finding out what they charge.
as a new patient, they were able to see me right away, initially, but the dentist was quite condescending about my dental situation, and although she was unable to fix my issue that day, i was charged as if she had. I do not appreciate being ripped off. I have nearly 20,000 dollars worth of dental issues to contend with, and will not be taking them to a dentist who overcharges me 50 dollars, especially not if she is condescending too. Its a crapshoot at the front desk too. one person is helpful the other is not.
