he did not give a direct reason why he refused to treat me

Hopefully these folks will suffer & No One gives a Rats Ass.....

Since Dr Paul H Le joined Austin Pain Associates, all it's become is a Money Machine. They seem to focus on Money & numerous Pain injections. Yes, the injections help, but I am a Chronic Pain Patient. I suffer from Massive Degenerative Disc Disease, Whiplash, & in 1984, after a injury with Southwest Airlines, I had My Lumbar 5 removed & L4 is fused to L3, when I'd had 2 slipped disc & Lumbar 5 ruptured.

I have been a patient of Dr. Le for about a year and a half now. He has been wonderful to me he is a very good doctor I would recommend him to anyone. Also the staff and nurses are excellent. Every procedure that I have had they have called me the day after and ask if everything was OK. They are wonderful.

I pleaded with Dr Paul tried to go over my medical records

Dr Paul H Le use to be Pro marijuana, (so I would NOT become addicted to Legal Drugs) & even Austin Pain Associates Dr Manold, their pain Addiction Specialist commented "If I could put a card in Your Wallet, it would be there. (Medical Marijuana was what We were discussing) I can name 8 plus more M.D.s whom favor marijuana use, I've seen personally, since I've been in Chronic Pain since 1984.

I have Medicare & it's bad. I feel sorry for anyone who chooses this group of Money Hungry associates. The good thing as Sondra Bullock always puts it,

Dr. Le Paul H is self absorbed and straight to the point. He will diagnosis you in the first 10 seconds of meeting him, possibly before getting to shake his hand. I've been dealing with chronic pain for almost five years and he turned me away in a seconds notice.

and he refused to treat me

I've been seeing a psychiatrist for over 4 years and his brilliant diagnosis is that I have anxiety. Just so you are all aware my psychiatrist referred me to this clinic because anxiety medication does not treat pain.

Thx,

I had started using marijuana at one point, so I wouldn't die from morphine & other prescribed heavy DRUGS.

I would avoid this clinic or possibly just this doctor.

I am 29 years old and have suffered from chronic pain/nerve injury resulting in CRPS for 4 years. I would like to take a moment to recognize Dr. Paul Le of Pain Doctor - Austin for essentially saving my life. Prior to being a patient of Dr. Le, I had another pain specialist who brushed me off, treated me as a drug seeker all while going through a process of oral meds, nerve blocks, nerve ablations, and IV infusions that either all failed or actually exacerbated my CRPS. Without a new breakthrough procedure by Dr. Le, I would be unable to work and could not imagine spending every minute of the rest of my life in severe-to-excruciating pain.

I meet Dr Paul H Le when He was had his own private practice, since I was broadsided by St Davids Chief of Nurses, Susan Griffin on March 16th 2010. (Susan Griffin only carried $25,000.00 on Her Insurance carrier & left me in DEBT $$ MY medical alone was over $50,000.00 & wiped out any saving I had in 2 years)

5th Generation Austinite

I saw Dr Le today, & due to Me showing dirty on a UA 3 years ago, he refused me medication without a UA and scheduled 3 injections . Even the staff at 2501 W William Cannon, Austin, Tx showed their true colors as a NON Caring industry. (they instructed me due to My "PAST" UA's, I need to find another pain Specialist) I guess what do You expect, when billing is based in St Louis Mo $$ (some Doctor by the name of Robert P Willis MD PA)

I am a Doctor of Optometry, a scientist and healer by nature. All Doctors of _____________ as well as nurses take an oath specific to their profession, but all contain a similar message. "First, do no harm." I want to take a moment to talk about the surgeries I had in January and May. Spinal cord stimulators have been around for decades, but I have only known about them since my CRPS took a turn for the worse ...in September. The specific type I have is the Axium DRG Neuromodulator (or something like that) made by St. Jude Medical (no financial gain from this post). Numbers had been spouted to me by my doctors, but when I did the research on this new device FDA approved in 2016, the clinical trials found success in 90% of patients and of that, they experienced an average of 80% improvement in pain. Other stimulators had a success rate of 50-70% and an average pain relief of 50% for CRPS. Wow. I had been on and off very powerful opioid and non-opioid pain relievers for the past 2 years and received about 25% pain relief. I also had a total of 10 failed major and minor procedures, most over the past 2 years. It will take my brain chemistry months or even a year to get back to where it was before such physical and emotional trauma. My 90-100% pain relief with my DRG stimulator WITHOUT any pain meds is the norm, and I have severe, previously intractable CRPS. My message to you is do your homework, do not settle for mediocrity and debilitating pain. If your doctor has told you nothing else can be done or doesn't do DRG or hasn't heard of it, find someone who has! Back to the "do no harm"...I hope someday this device will be considered one of the first lines of treatment for CRPS (also approved for fibromyalgia) and not the last. Think about the harm to your brain and your body taking meds, being hospitalized for procedures every few weeks, IV ketamine treatments every few months. And NEVER STOP FIGHTING.

I've tried numerous treatments, this is the first time I've ever seen a pain clinic for my pain due to it being unbearable.

He is not good. He is snotty- told me in a very mean tone of voice that I was a "glutton for punishment." Also cost me MORE THAN $900 on drugs when I changed insurance. Strange that another Dr. was able to prescribe me something that worked just as well and was covered by my insurer but Dr. Le fought with me about it and then his staff had the nerve to tell me that I HAD AN ATTITUDE. Even worse, I was told that they accepted my insurance only to get a bill in the mail for $595 and an "oops, our bad, we don't actually accept your insurance!" note. Bad, awful, terrible - the entire Pain Management staff has been awful. Go here only if you are Dr. shopping 'cause they only want to prescribe pills and make you an appointment with their "therapists" who are also insulting and unprofessional.
