Long-View Micro School is a magical place. First and foremost, it attracts some of the very best teachers in the city (and country) -- highly experienced professionals who are constantly honing their craft. Next, it provides a highly-personalized, highly-collaborative community where children feel that they matter -- they have a voice and agency in their own education, and they are seen as highly capable, trust-worthy individuals. As such, they are given a great deal of responsibility. It makes such a difference -- my daughter (4th grade) has THRIVED in this environment -- she is a different kid than a few years ago. To boot -- and this is really the icing on the cake -- there is no artificial "ceiling" placed on what kids are exposed to (e.g. "levels" or even "grade") -- in this environment she is learning algebraic systems of equations and probability in math (in fourth grade), designing experiments, writing complex essays over several weeks, and coding in Python. Amazing!

This is a fantastic learning environment for students and teachers alike. This is my second year working at Long-View Micro School and the culture here is unlike any school I know. It is extremely innovative and the focus is always on learning. This is apparent daily, but also emphasized through the "lab school nature" of our work with math educators from around the country through our work with the number lab.

Long-View is STEM focused and includes an incredible literacy program. The students enjoy a reduced schedule (9:00am-2:30pm/M-TH) and an hour long lunch break at a nearby park. The top-notch faculty encourage the students to ask thoughtful questions, challenge each other, and collaborate to work through problems in all of their subjects. LV offers many after school class options (tennis, golf, robotics, writing, etc.) and no school Fridays allow our family to supplement music and Spanish. I highly recommend touring the school if you are seeking a unique learning experience for your child.

I could gush on for pages about my love for this school. My son has been attending for two years and I can't imagine a better education. The educators here love what they do and are a huge credit to the profession. The curriculum is innovative and engaging. As a former teacher my only wish is that all kids could receive such a high quality education from such invested, caring teachers.

This is my daughter's second year at Long-View Micro School and we couldn't be happier. She spent three years at a traditional public school and became disenchanted with a system that didn't provide opportunities for her to advance her skills in math and language arts at the pace she desired.
