Faith and Emily were our guides. Both are locals. Knowledgeable about the area.
Shop was easy to find but parking is limited. We had the early morning (9:30) Lady Bird Lake tour. Not too much traffic or crowds. At least not at first.
Great way to get around and get familiar with Austin. Really good bikes. Comfortable with plenty of power. 7-speed Shimano gear set for when you want to get some exercise.
I would suggest smaller groups by the company or paying more yourself for a private ride. I would do it again on one of their other tours but would ask to keep group smaller.
We rode the trails on the south side of the lake, up to Barton Springs (beautiful) and back through town on the north side. Some of the trail areas were a little crowded but manageable. Our group was a bit too large. 13 rides plus 2 guides. Would have been better to split the group. 3 of the people kept moving out ahead of the guide and the rest of us somewhat suffered as the guide kept trying to keep an eye on those 3.
Went for a rental and a test drive of a few bikes. Everyone was SUPER friendly and patient, which definitely made the process a lot more fun! I know I’ll be coming to them when it comes time to purchase.
We had a great time Sunday doing the Brunch Tour with guides Faith and Brianna. There were four of us: My brother, his wife, our sister's husband & myself. I'm the only cyclist in the family so having their electric bikes made it fun and doable for all of us. Their statement at their website that you will be full at the end was no exaggeration. And my brother and sister-in-law have lived in Austin/Round Rock for nearly 15 years and still all three places we visited were new to them! Food was amazing. Without spoiling the locations (they have some 20 restaurants from which to choose and will customize the trip based on tastes and dietary concerns) I'll list two of my favorite items: house-smoked lamb pastrami Rueben and a brown sugar & spice rubbed pork belly with over easy egg on top and hash cake underneath. The places were dined at were really cool and eclectic and might not have otherwise been on our radar....and seeing Auston big bike: Priceless! Well worth the cost of admission!!
Nice trip overall. Would have liked to have more stops with explanation of areas and Austin history. For the price we paid we expected just a bit more.
Had a great time with them on their Electric Bike Tour~~~ Much more than I expected. Recommended.
Awesome experience! We did the foodie tour and had a blast! The bikes were so much fun, although a bit more of a work out then I was expecting, and the food was absolutely incredible! This is definitely the way to do a food tour in Austin!
