Thanks to all at AVES who helped during this confusing and scary time.

The staff was incredibly kind. They seem to do a very good job at remembering face/owner to pet (from my experience) just by walking in. Every single person I talked to (a few different vets and staff) were all kind and cared about the best care possible. They have a multitude of staff that work together and all steps taken are logged. My final receipt had a log of every single action taken and the costs associated, and even included logs of actions taken that do not require any cost. I was able to see every single step taken to help my pet.

My best friend and support system who has enriched my life, and never are we apart is being treated by the best men and women who are not only trying to fix him but have called me with updates every few hours. Louis Vuitton is the light of my life and I know I have lived a longer life because of him. I am 1000% positive these doctors and nurses will do everything in their power for Louis to feel better until it’s his time. We have found new friends and doctors. Thank all of you.

My dog came home for a short amount of time, but sadly did not improve. While he was at home, the doctors were easy to reach via phone. At the end, we had to say goodbye to our beloved dog, but everyone at AVES was so incredibly compassionate. AVES coordinated his after-care and gave us a nice clay paw print to keep. Losing a pet is the hardest thing, but I can't imagine what it would be like if we weren't getting top notch care and customer service along the way.

I recently took my dog (black lab mix) into AVES this past Sunday morning due to poisoning.

Very caring and professional front desk staff, veterinary assistants and doctors! My dog got the best care possible, making the hour long drive from San Antonio worth every minute. I can’t thank them enough for helping me with my baby. This was the best experience I have had at a veterinarian’s office/pet ER and the place to go if you are looking for top quality care!

Taking your dog to the hospital is never a good thing, but AVES makes it as pleasant as possible. My dog developed a sudden, often fatal, disease. Our local vet referred us to AVES on a Friday night. Although they were busy, they took great care of us. My dog had to stay at the hospital for over a week. During that time, I visited him at least once a day. The front desk staff was extremely friendly, helpful and kind. I was consistently updated on my dog's progress - once in the morning, once at night, and more often when things went awry. I could also call at any time for a progress report, and was never on hold for more than a minute.

I found this place through a frantic google search because my cat needed to see a vet asap and I'm new to the area. I called and probably sounded like a crazy person because I was so nervous and worried. The lady I spoke to on the phone was very informative and calming and told us to come right then and they'd be ready for me. When I got there they immediately recognized me and someone came to look at my cat within the first minute of walking in, even with other people checking in and out they got to me quickly and were super organized with everything. The place itself was super clean, the vets and front desk staff were super friendly and welcoming. I'm so glad I chose to come there.

The doctors at AVES are top notch. We saw several doctors who were all great, but Dr. Duffy and Dr. Moyle took care of my dog the most. Both were fabulous. My dogs disease was not straight forward at all. There were many possibilities and it would have been confusing if Dr. Duffy and Dr. Moyle were not so thorough. They took the time to explain everything, often multiple times. I must have asked the same questions repetitively, but they made sure I understood the disease, options, prognosis, cost and treatment plans. Emergency care is not cheap, but AVES was always upfront with the cost, providing a detailed estimate for each service. The technicians were all friendly and loving. Chelsea was especially kind, not only taking excellent care of her four legged patient, but also providing much-needed support to us.

They are also great at communication and visiting. I could call at any time of day or night to hear the status of my pet, and they called by default first thing in the morning and evening to give me an update.

In the end I spent just under $1200 for an overnight stay and medication. That cost also includes constant 24 hour monitoring of the pet and clearance to do what is needed to keep the pet comfortable and safe. Is this costly? Absolutely, but most emergencies are.

In response to many reviews calling out costs or lack of conclusive knowledge prior to treatment, I disagree. I think it should be kept in mind that this is very similar in comparison to an emergency room visit for your pet. Direct action is taken and often a default action is to have an overnight stay or two to monitor your pet and give them the necessary help they need if things go south. This isn't a normal vet visit. You come here when you're scared and have limited options in the moment.

I could tell that my dog was being treated well because he didn't object to going into AVES like he did the groomer or vet. When the doctors and staff came into the exam room, he would go to them to be petted. I could also tell that the doctors and staff loved my dog, and treated him like their own. Dr. Duffy and Chelsea could not have been more compassionate and kind during this challenging time.
