I just left my dog with not much of an option. I am somewhat new to Austin area and do not understand how that facility operates. After leaving my primary vet, they strongly suggested I take her there for the night. My vet called over and spoke to the vet on staff. I had an IV solution in hand and walked in. The front office girl, young in appearance blonde asked me who I was and why there? I was kind of shocked and did somewhat assume they were expecting me. Not realizing I had to start from the beginning I was confused. Not to get into a long drawn out detail. The receptionists was rude as could be. One size fits all. She ran off and stated I would have to speak to someone else almost immediately . I honestly thought she meant to get me thrown out. I never raised my voice and only asked why she was treating me this way. Why so rude. She didn’t like that. I was just confused, not realizing I was going to need to start from the beginning. I told her the vet called ahead, she said she does not know who I am or what the dogs problem may be. I said I know you wouldn’t, but the vet would. Horrible horrible horrible experience. Already spent a butt load of bank at one place about to drop more. I recommend if you can make the drive and have the time, go to another facility. It cannot be worse. However, I will say this, the doctor, Dr Burns made a difference. And that’s where it. counts I suppose. I was going to pay them to remove the IV and just take my dog back to the main vet in the morning. I’m going to have to do so anyway. She talked me out of it. Concerned for my pup. She was a professional, courteous and knowledgeable. My heart was beating so fast and my dog picked up on it. I had to suck it up and calm down inside myself for the pup. I never raised my voice, just very confused at first. Kinda though it was an extension of the first vet. The receptionist need to perhaps realize we’re not in a normal mind set when walking in. It is for a bad reason most likely. Not to mention money spent. GO ELSEWHERE PLEASE!!!

I love this place! The doctors and vet techs pay so much attention to detail and deeply care for the animals. I brought a very very sick dog in for our dog rescue Lucky Lab, and they have been nursing him back to health and proactively calling me with updates. They even provide discounts to rescue groups which is unheard of for a busy emergency hospital. Every staff interaction I have had has been amazing. This is now my emergency vet of choice!

Our cat had a bandage on his leg from getting his blood drawn at our regular vet. Our vet told us specifically not to let it stay on overnight. (It was hurting his leg and his foot was becoming swollen.) We tried to get it off for HOURS. Holding him with a towel, tried to sedate him with a pill...nothing worked. It was like he was possessed. haha We eventually called Emergency Animal Hospital of Northwest Austin at 11pm to see if they could help us. We went in and they took it off for us within 10 minutes free of charge. Incredibly friendly staff and vet. You can tell they chose this job because they truly want to help animals.

Our visit to the Emergency Animal Clinic was of the worst possible circumstances, but the people here were so professional while still be compassionate towards our beloved dog and us as family members. They made the situation bearable, and I'm very thankful for that. Our normal vet was closed and I'm glad they recommended we come here. Definitely recommend this clinic if you are in similar situation.

I absolutely love it here. The staff is so knowledgeable and helpful. They helped a rescued hurricane Harvey dog without breaking the bank. When we brought the dog in, he was dying, and the staff was so kind, caring, and attentive. He has spent a few nights there and Is finally recovering. We couldn't have saved him without this place. So THANK YOU!! I can't recommend them enough. Best emergency animal hospital in austin.
