Hyatt seems to have really upped their game in recent years and this is one of the better hotels in their chain. Clean rooms with modern decor. Attentive and freindly staff. All at a great location.
The rooms were clean and spacious, and the staff was friendly. One staff member forgot to give me a conference pass upon check in, but she came to my room as soon as she realized. The valet was also friendly and helpful. Great place to stay in downtown Austin, walking distance to the convention center.
Long story short. Four Seasons Front Desk messed up my reservation so that I have to look for other options. Maria at Hyatt lightened up my day. A business success is because of people. Maria showed me the room and explained the hotel outlets. A warm and homey place that I decided to stay in right away. Thanks! Maria & Hyatt! I will have a pleasant stay here.
The Hyatt Place downtown has got to be the best place to stay in the Austin downtown area. Been staying at different hotels in downtown Austin for years, and this is the best place yet. Staff, all the way up to the valet, were always courteous and professional during our stay. The hotel is clean and we'll kept. The place feels like home away from home. The breakfast is the best I have seen from a hotel, and it's included in your stay. The lounge/bar/breakfast area is very comfortable with a variety of seating options. Staff will attempt to greet you every time you arrive or leave. The rooms are clean, quiet, and we'll laid out...the best layout in this hotel segment. The hotel managers do a fabulous job of running a really tight ship. Hyatt Place is just a great value that is only a block away from the convention center and surrounded by awesome places to eat (try Gus' World Famous Chicken). I can only hope that the current high level of service is maintained. My only complaint is that there is only valet parking available at almost $40 a night.
Great rooms with a sleeper sofa which is a nice added touch. Rooms have a fridge but no microwave. TVs are not HD on every channel and actually fuzzy on some channels. Breakfast is really nice, though it could use another addition or two like a waffle iron. Hotel has great security as elevators will not access room floors without scanning your room key.
