We live in Austin, but decided to stay downtown to attend a 1920s-era ball for charity. Naturally, the Driskill was the go-to place to add to our experience, and wow ... it totally delivered.

We stayed in the Heritage Landmark suite for one night. It was a good sized room, well adorned in antiquity, and tidy. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a trip back in time.

It definitely is one of the best hotel experiences I've had in the US, and even though we live in Austin we find ourselves occasionally looking for a reason to stay.

Had a work conference hosted here and it was a great experience. I'm a nursing mother, and they were able to accommodate my need to pump throughout the event by allowing me to use one of the massage rooms, which has an outlet and a small sink. They also provided a refrigerator so I didn't have to rely on cold packs. I really appreciate what they did for me, plus the venue was great for our events. The staff is very friendly and professional, the chairs are way more comfortable than your average conference chairs, and the catered food was great. Definitely recommend for events!

Lovely hotel. All gold fixtures and soaring chandeliers, and very close to all the action on 6th street. While the staff wasn't rude or anything, I didn't find them to be overly helpful either - hence the lack of a fifth star. We stayed for three days, and was h day we came back from our adventures, the line at the valet was huge, and not once did we receive help with our stuff, not even the first day when we had all our luggage.

The staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful, and the large cafe served up a solid breakfast in the morning once we staggered our way there.

I visited the bar so I can't really give feedback on the hotel rooms. This place has an old school big Texas oil money kind of vibe. It is more upscale so don't come in wearing flip flops and a tank top!! They make good drinks and have good service. From time to time they have live music, but there isn't a lot of space and the older drunk folks start to dance it can get a but crowded and overwhelming. It is an experience you wont forget.

This is a very historic site with some extremely unique scenery. The hotel features some 18th century architecture with some presidential figures and other historical icons throughout. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re not going to be staying in this area to come over and see the architecture here. The owners of done a good job of taking care of the property and trying to restore it to its original look and feel.
